Poster Development
For the poster we wanted it to be open to the whole community, with Zoe's illustrations I have worked our poster around making each of the individual representations of the community a more personal character that they can relate to themselves. I wanted to explore a few other variants of colour as we seem to have strayed to the blue a lot more. These are the first initial ideas that i've had.

Planning website, flyer, and poster
For the layout of our website we want the main focus to be the imagery of Lyall bay and/or our illustrations. We want a simple line of navigation along the top of the page with the image large beneath it followed with a one or two columned info graphic styled information area. We have since changed from the difference between the ugly truth, perspective and reality and focused our event towards the community as a whole in a more friendlier (less skeleton death style) and made the event open to everyone in the community by Zoe illustrating a series of drawings for the range of medias, that illustrate the community members and some earlier ideas of children playing with rubbish

EDIT-
Here are some more experiments of the website/thumbnails just practicing with general layout and ideas.
As well as some experiments with concepts and thumbnails of the poster. At first we experimented with the idea of reality vs perceptions trying to illustrate this idea but as we experimented more it we realised it didn't get off the idea we wanted and instead make people think that if you go to the beach it will kill you. So after discussing with one of the tutors, we started to experiment more with the idea of community. We also were told to continue with the illustration aspect and were ever give the artist model Scott Kennedy.
Illustrations based on the artist model - experimented with a simpler style, it seems to be working a lot more then the original style we were working with. Might need to add more characters to the Image if it is converted to a A2

Websites
Inspirations for layouts and styles for our website:
Keep it simple and clear, the information page will most likely be in a info graphic style
Analysis: This website consist of a simple layout that allows the viewer to simply find the information they need on the opening page. The links along the beginning of the homepage allow for a clear and simple instruction. The cascading images moving through allow for a view of their character and what they are about; food, craft beer, chocolate, coffee. Clean cut images that show the viewer what they want to see. The website provides a menu, about us - which allows the reader to see what they brew with and who the work along side while producing their products, this lets the customer/audience see the story of their company (honest.) The shop - shows a map of where it is, specials and what is currently happening at their store. They have a clear catering sign, filled with all the information you need to use them at your next event. It's simple with step by step instructions and questions you may have for your order. Overall the website shows a simple straight to the point layout, not a lot of imagery is used which makes it easier to move around, the layout allows for a decent amount of white space to lead your eye. - Samara

Bad Website

Analysis- Nothing on this page is eye catching, the gifs are not in a layout and how no purpose to be on the page except for links. There is no indication that the website can do anything much less scroll down. Also bland colours and too much negative space. Am honestly surprised that this is a website for a design school.

Feedback from Week 2 Lesson 2
For class this lesson we showed our idea of reality vs perceptions.
Overall the feedback was really good, the class thought that our style we chose suited and showed the overall concept in the correct way we wanted. However, we have the option to change the ideas and switch which part is photographed and which part is illustrated to give the image a new meaning which we could explore in our next set of work. The idea of reality vs perception allows the viewer to see which side they would prefer, speaking to their emotive side.
Ideas after feedback we could look in to:

Ideas after feedback we could look in to:
- Person walking dog, piece of paper over dog to make it look like a skeleton.
- Families making sandcastles, made out of rubbish
- People swimming
- Walking
- Vollyball ect.

Week Two
rhetoric
the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing, especially the exploitation of figures of speech and other compositional techniques.
language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect, but which is often regarded as lacking in sincerity or meaningful content.
Design Matrix
- Next step
-choose from each heading to create next set of thumbnails.
We are still undecided on Lyall bay or Island bay. We're most likely going to target the audience of locals and families for Lyall bay and the recreational side of Island bay.
